Ep: 13 Increase Revenue Without Ads, Courses, or Burnout

“We’re productizing the management and the delivery of your genius, not you getting to do it.”

Emylee

Alright, y’all, I need to start with this—just because you don’t know how to do something doesn’t mean it’s not possible. That’s the energy we’re bringing into today’s episode. Because if you’re a done-for-you service provider, productization might be the exact lever you’ve been avoiding—the one that finally helps you grow revenue without adding more clients, hours, or a whole damn team.

If you’ve ever hit that “I literally can’t take on one more person” ceiling, this episode is for you. I’m breaking down what being ready for productization actually looks like, what red flags to look for before you dive in, and why this is the most sustainable way to scale a service-based business in 2025 and beyond.

What You’ll Hear in This Episode

  • How I turned a treadmill obsession into a metaphor for consistency (and business momentum)

  • Why productization is the only lever that makes sense if you want more revenue

  • The honest checklist I use to see if a service provider is ready to productize

  • How to know if you’re at a capacity or clarity ceiling

  • The mindset shift that separates “custom service providers” from scalable ones

Productization Is the Lever—Not a Buzzword

Let’s start here: I am not saying every single person has to productize. But if you’re a done-for-you service provider and you want to make more revenue without turning into a full-blown agency or selling $27 templates… this is the move.

Productization doesn’t mean you’re suddenly automating everything or losing your client connection. It’s about streamlining how you deliver your genius, so the business can scale sustainably. It’s not about making less personal contact—it’s about cutting out the chaos that doesn’t need to exist.

Signs You’re Ready to Productize

This is where I get spicy, because readiness isn’t about your revenue, your title, or your years in business. I’ve seen people who’ve worked with one client and they’re ready to productize—and I’ve seen people who’ve worked with 30 and still aren’t.

Here’s what actually matters:

  • You can clearly state who you serve and what result you deliver.

  • You’ve done your service enough times (or have enough experience) to spot patterns.

  • You know there’s a better, cleaner way to deliver what you do.

  • You’re open to shifting your mindset around “how” your service works.

If you can’t answer “What do I do? Who do I do it for? And what result do they get?”—that’s your first place to start.

You’re Probably Closer Than You Think

Most service providers already have the foundation for productization—they just haven’t called it that yet. You’ve probably already built mini-systems or repeatable steps to make your life easier. That’s productization in disguise.

The difference is when you decide to own that structure, optimize it, and make it part of your offer ecosystem on purpose. That’s where your revenue jumps without your workload doing the same.

The Truth About “Being Too Custom”

If your first thought was, “But my service is so custom, this could never work for me,” pause right there. That’s the delulu lens I want you to put on. Ask instead, What parts of my process could be productized? Even three hours of saved time a week adds up.

It’s not all-or-nothing. It’s small, smart levers you pull over time that add up to massive freedom.
