Ep: 08 Human Design for Service Providers: How to Build a Business That Energizes You with Haley Bri

“As a projector, I’m still learning that I get to exist and be loved without performing all the time.”

Emylee

This episode hit me right in the gut — in the best way. Haley and I sat down (or, let’s be real, spilled our guts) about what it looks like to rebuild your life and business after everything feels like it’s fallen apart. I’m talking marriage, business partnerships, identity, all of it.

Both of us have been through that “dark cloud” season, where you can’t see the next step, and you’re just trying to remember how to breathe again. But on the other side? There’s clarity, there’s joy, and there’s a whole new way of doing business that actually feels good again.

We’re talking healing, human design, rebuilding trust (in yourself and other people), and using your natural energy to build something sustainable — instead of burning out on hustle culture nonsense.

If you’ve been craving a version of business that feels lighter, easier, and more you, this episode is the mirror you didn’t know you needed.

What You’ll Hear in This Episode

  • Why both Haley and I swore we’d never partner with anyone again… and then did.

  • The truth about “dark seasons” in business (and how to come out the other side with more energy, not less).

  • What human design really means for service providers (and why it’s not just another personality test).

  • How to make business decisions that align with your natural energy and design.

  • The five-part Human Design Playbook we’re building (and how you can be part of it).

  • Why we’re done following the “just post more” advice — and how to scale in alignment instead.

The Healing Side of Business: Lessons from the Dark Seasons

There’s a reason I wanted to have Haley on. Her story is one of those that makes you pause — she’s walked through divorce, losing her community, restarting life from scratch, and rebuilding her business from a completely different energy.

What I love about Haley’s perspective is how she connects self-awareness to business. She talks about the “water freezing” metaphor — how when life hits hard, everything inside of you feels stiff and heavy. But when the thaw comes? You finally start to flow again.

That image stuck with me. Because I think so many service providers go through that same energetic freeze. You burn out, question your purpose, and lose sight of why you started. And then one day, something shifts — maybe therapy, maybe rest, maybe a new collaboration — and you start feeling alive again.

That’s exactly what this season feels like for both of us.

Trust, Partnership, and the “Projector” Problem

We also got into the messiness of partnerships. Let’s be real — both of us said we’d never do one again. And yet, here we are.

As two Projectors in human design, we have to be so intentional with our energy. We both have that same “don’t tell me what to do” streak, which means our collaboration had to be built around mutual trust, clear communication, and total transparency.

Haley said it best:

“Our presence is worth loving, not just our performance.”

That line hit hard. Because so many of us — especially women in business — are used to being praised for how much we do, not who we are. And that’s exactly the energy we’re rejecting in this next chapter.

We spent weeks mapping out our partnership: the roles, the boundaries, the emotional stuff. We over-communicated, talked through every possible fear, and made sure the entire structure aligned with both of our human design types.

The takeaway? You can build business partnerships that feel safe, grounded, and nourishing — but only when you understand your energy and communicate relentlessly.

Human Design for Service Providers

This is where things get juicy.

Haley and I are both certified in human design, and we’re obsessed with helping service providers apply it to business strategy in a practical, non-fluffy way.

We’ve created what we’re calling the Five-Chapter Playbook, built around the five most impactful parts of your chart:

  1. Energy Genetics — How your body is wired to create and keep energy.

  2. Decision DNA — How you make the right choice every time based on your authority.

  3. Legion — How to attract and connect with your people.

  4. Sales — How to sell in a way that actually feels natural to you.

  5. Your Day-to-Day — How to design your business routines so they give you energy instead of draining it.

What’s different about this approach is that it’s not “one-size-fits-all.” For example, one of Haley’s clients hit seven figures through one-on-one services without using social media at all — because it didn’t align with her chart.

Meanwhile, I love content creation and writing, but hate being glued to my DMs. My business thrives when I focus on deep work and big-picture content, not endless engagement.

It’s proof that when you align your strategy to your design, everything starts to flow easier — sales, leads, energy, consistency.

The Mini Mastermind & App: Behind the Scenes

Before we ever build the full app, we’re starting small — intentionally.

We’re building out this mini mastermind, called SoulPrint, to work directly with a handful of service providers who want to test and apply the Human Design Playbook in real time.

It’s ridiculously affordable because we want this first group to be our case studies — the people who help us shape this thing from the ground up.

As Haley said:

“We’re not building this for us. We’re building it for you.”

And that’s really the heartbeat of this whole project. We’re both self-funding this, bootstrapping the app, and keeping everything intentionally intimate so that what we build actually works for real humans.
